CHURCH HILL THEATRE 2027 SEASON

Rumors- Feb 5- 21st

Yes, CHT does one more Neil Simon play. Rumors is caustic, funny, maybe too close to the bone, and a real hoot. Every season needs a true comedic farce.

Neil Simon may be America’s most popular playwright. At least the funniest. And who else could poke such wicked but generous fun at our social conventions? In Rumors, everything that could goes wrong at a dinner party. As guests try to make sense of gun shots, blood, supposed affairs, real affairs, car accidents, police visits, no food, and countless other distractions, Simon offers us a classic farce. We all need to laugh. Join us at CHT to laugh together.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night- April 2- 18th

In the multiple prize-winning The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, an autistic young man investigates and solves the mysterious death of a neighbor’s dog.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the best seller novel by Mark Haddon, won multiple British and American best play awards. At heart a procedural mystery, the play follows autistic Christopher Boone as he investigates the death of a neighbor’s dog. Along the way, we learn about his complicated relationships with his family and neighbors, his school, mathematics, and even his pet rat. This play demands inspired acting, extraordinary lighting and stagecraft, and true empathy. CHT proudly accepts the challenges of this play that will grab your heart.

Come From Away- June 4th – 20th

What happened when 7,000 passengers made unexpected landings in Gander, Newfoundland, in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks? This inspirational, audience-favorite musical, reminds us of eternal human values. Don’t miss Come From Away!

CHT fought like crazy to produce Come From Away! We got rights at the last moment and are overjoyed to bring this inspirational musical, based on real events, to our stage in September. What happens when 7,000 unexpected people land in tiny Gander, Newfoundland, in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on New York City? Well, no surprise, our Canadian friends rise to the challenge. With courage, generosity, and can-do spirit. The music is great, the fear was real, and the emotions are genuine. On the 25th anniversary of this nation-changing event, Church Hill Theatre celebrates hope, resilience and love.

The Outsiders- Sept 10- 26th

Based on a 1967 novel, The Outsiders is a true cult hit about teen-age conflict between the “greasers” and the upper-class “socs.”
Many of our own talented teens will be in the cast. Who Knew? When 15-year old S.E. Hinton started to write The Outsiders in 1967, she did not know it would become an influential (and often banned) novel, a TV series, a Tony best musical, a feature film and a play. In CHT’s dramatic version by Christopher Sergel, teen-age gangs in Oklahoma engage in violence that leads to death, heroism, and reconciliation. Enormously popular with young audiences, The Outsiders is a modern coming-of-age classic with a cast of outstanding adult and teen actors.
