Footloose

Church Hill Theatre will present the high-energy, youth-driven 90-minute version of the iconic musical Footloose this spring. Based on the popular 1984 movie, Footloose follows Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves to the small town of Bomont, where dancing and rock music are banned. Ren and his friends take a stand against this oppressive law, fighting to bring dance back to the town. Featuring an unforgettable soundtrack with hits like “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” “Holding Out for a Hero,” and the title song “Footloose,” the show offers a fast-paced, exciting experience with a timeless message of courage, freedom, and the power of music and dance.

What to Prepare:
Vocal Audition:
Please prepare a song in the style of Footloose
(pop/rock). An accompanist will be provided, so bring sheet music in
the correct key.
Dance Audition:
Be prepared to learn a short dance combination. Wear
appropriate clothing and footwear.
Acting Audition:
You will also read from the script during the audition.

Roles:
There are roles for both teens and adults. The cast includes main characters such as Ren McCormack, Ariel Moore, Reverend Shaw Moore, and Willard, along with various supporting and ensemble roles. We are looking for strong singers, dancers, and actors who are ready to bring this fun and energetic musical to life.

Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsals will be held in Centreville, MD, beginning January 27 and
continuing until Tech Week (March 30 – April 3, 2025). Then the Footloose production will move into Church Hill Theatre. The full schedule will be created based on schedules and needs.
