Development

Chairperson: Appointed by Board (Sylvia Maloney)

Members: Treasurer, EPD and other members of the Board of Directors as assigned by President

Meetings: To be determined by committee

Purpose: To maintain fiscal accountability for the organization; to assure the upkeep and improvements to all real property owned by the organization; to assure the ongoing development and administration of an effective membership program; to set financial policies for and oversee the business of the Fund Raising, Membership & Building & Grounds Committees.

Operations

Chairperson: Appointed by President

Members: Members of the Board of Directors only; appointed by President

Meetings: To be determined by committee

Purpose: To plan and recommend programs and projects that will further the mission of the organization; to set policy for and oversee the business of the following committees: Marketing, Nominating and Volunteers.

Executive

Chairperson: Appointed by President (Michael Whitehill)

Members: Members of the Board of Directors only; appointed by President

Meetings: To be determined by committee

Purpose: To assure that all programming furthers the mission of the organization; to assure programming provides outreach opportunities to more members of our community; to assist the organization in recruiting volunteers for committee membership and Programming and events; to set policy for and oversee the business of the following committees: Production, Programming and Education.

Board Working Committees

Ad Hoc

Chairperson: David Bowering

Members: Shelagh Grasso (Vice-Chair of the Board), Sylvia Maloney (Chair of Finance), Becca Van Aken (Secretary), Jennifer Moore (Member-at-Large), Development and Operations Committees and the EPD.

Meetings: Monthly on the third Tuesday at 5:30 P.M.

Purpose: To determine those issues which require the institution, revision or deletion of policy to be obtained either through an Executive Committee or a Board vote; to attend to the business brought before the members from the three standing Board committees and to determine those issues requiring full Board attention; to assure that the Board follows the annual calendar for all organization affairs.

Building & Grounds

Chairperson: Appointed by President

Members: Appointed by President and Committee Chair

Meetings: Informal and based on need

Purview: Board of Directors

Purpose: To meet the demands, requirements or planning for any sudden or short-term specified need or project for the organization.

Bylaws

Chairperson: Appointed by President

Members: Appointed by President and Committee Chair

Meetings: Informal, between Chair and members as needed.

Purview: EPD and Finance Committee

Purpose: To assure the ongoing upkeep, maintenance and necessary improvements to the physical plant.

Education

Chairperson: Appointed by President

Members: Appointed by President and Committee Chair

Meetings: As needed, but no less than once per year

Purview: Board of Directors

Purpose: To assure the organization's bylaws remain current and appropriate.

Fund Raising

Chairperson: Appointed by President (Becca Van Aken)

Members: Appointed by Board President and Committee Chair

Meetings: No less than 6 per year

Purview: EPD

Purpose: To plan, implement and evaluate all performing arts educational programs for children and adults to be sponsored and or produced by the CHT for the community; to assure an ongoing yearly schedule of youth programs for ages 5 to 18, including summer camps, workshops, classes and programs with other agencies; to provide a variety of yearly adult educational opportunities in the form of workshops, lectures, and classes; to assist the EPD in providing services to lesser served areas of the county; to assist in identifying and recruiting appropriate recipients for CHT scholarships and internships and other volunteers for the organization.

Marketing

Chairperson: Appointed by President (Robert McGrory)

Members: Treasurer, appointees by President and Committee Chair

Meetings: At least 6 per year

Purview: EPD and Finance Committee

Purpose: Coordinate all fundraising activities both at will or based on the needs determined by the Finance Committee.

Membership

Members: EPD and appointees by Board President and Committee Chair

Meetings: To be determined by committee

Purview: EPD

Purpose: To plan and implement a cost effective promotional, publicity and advertising campaign for the Theatre; to plan and implement the look, style and feel of all representative and point of purchase materials including the season brochure and Showbill; to continue to design, develop and keep up to date the CHT web site.

Nominating

Chairperson: Appointed by President

Members: Secretary and appointees by Board President and Committee Chair

Meetings: To be determined by Committee

Purview: EPD & Development Committee

Purpose: Coordinate the Membership Drive.

Promotions

Chairperson: Appointed by President (Shelagh Grasso)

Members: Secretary and appointees by Board President and Committee Chair

Meetings: To be determined by committee

Purview: Development Committee

Purpose: To recommend the best possible candidates for election to the Board of Directors and to assure that all vacancies are filled in a timely manner.

Programming

Chairperson: Appointed by President

Members: EPD and members appointed by Board President and Committee Chair

Meetings: No less than 6 per year

Purview: EPD

Purpose: To identify and approach new populations and markets through targeted ads, distribution of marketing materials, arranging attendance at promotional social gatherings or events or identifying other ways in which the community can become educated about and interested in CHT; to identify and implement production-specific promotions; to write and disperse all CHT press releases; to place pre-designed ads in all publications approved by the EPD and the Marketing Committee; to coordinate yearly Showbill ad sales campaign; to oversee the production of the quarterly newsletter.

Volunteers

Meetings: To be determined by committee; no less than 6 per year.

Purview: EPD

Purpose: To recommend for Board approval a series of Main Season plays for a proposed season; to discuss and potentially secure any other book-in or special presentations (such presentations to include, but not limited to: Music concerts, lectures, recitals, staged readings, "Black Box" and Experimental Theatre and One-Act plays); to schedule the season.

As you are all aware, The Theatre is temporarily closed and the 2020 season has been interrupted because of the shutdown, and it is not clear when the ban on public gatherings will be lifted. The Green Room Gang is also cancelled for this season, although we are offering a Virtual mini-camp workshop the week of July 6-10. The End of Year Annual Report(s) is forthcoming.
