EMPLOYMENT TERMS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The regular term of employment for this contract begins on Monday, June 22, 2026, and ends on Sunday, July 26, 2025.
The intern is expected to work Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM until 3:30 PM (6 hours in workshop and one additional hour).

The intern is expected to work additional hours for production, administrative, technical or theater facility time (as designated by the Green Room Gang Instructors and/or the Education Committee Chair).  These additional hours per work week may occur after the usual class day or on other days, including Fridays, when necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the productions undertaken by Green Room Gang Jr. or Sr. and done by mutual consent with the Instructor/Director, Education Chair or their designee.

The intern is expected to fulfill all agreed-upon responsibilities through the weekend of Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, 2025, in production support for the GRG performances. Roles and responsibilities for this weekend will depend on designations made by the instructor/directors of both GRG Junior and GRG Senior. Performances occur on Thursday and Friday evenings, July 23rd and 24th at 7 PM and Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th, at 2 PM.

GRG Working with an Intern

Students desiring intensive, hands-on, day-to-day experience in theatre can engage in a practicum that will provide working experience to supplement their educational curriculum in theatre. With a knowledgeable and experienced paid and volunteer staff serving as mentors, and a fully-equipped facility with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scenic and costume areas, students will learn within an engaging and supportive environment.

Interns may be involved in one or more of the areas of concentration listed below. The program’s advisor will work with the intern to develop an individualized program that best meets the needs of both the intern and the Theatre.

Technical/Production: Stage management; production management; set design, construction and scene painting and decor properties and costumes; sound and lighting.

Direction/Teaching: Direction/assistant direction; dramaturgy; teaching: summer camp production; project/program development.

Theatre Administration: Public relations and marketing/development; grant writing and fundraising; special events coordination; front of house management; audience development and enrichment; financial management.
